There’s no better feeling than coming home from work and seeing how much passive income I have accumulated throughout the day!! Making money while I sleep is pretty awesome, too!
When I first started my blog back in November, I never would have thought that I would’ve made this much income in such a short amount of time. Considering the fact that I can only work on my blog a few hours a week, I’m surprised at how much I have accomplished.
Before starting my blog, I remember reading blog income reports from some of my favorite bloggers, and hoping that I could reach their success levels one day. So, I am super excited to share my first blog income report with you guys!
To begin, $1,169.94 is the total amount of income that I’ve made blogging from the last two months, March and April. I’ve spent a lot of sleepless nights writing blog posts, creating pins on PicMonkey, and researching new ways to improve the quality of my site. The income that I’m making definitely makes it all worth it, and it feels like my hard work is paying off.
Besides the hard work, I absolutely LOVE blogging. Blogging is the only hobby that allows me to express my thoughts and share my ideas with other people that are interested in the same topics. If you want to find a hobby that will allow you to have fun, meet new people, and make money, then you need to start a blog!
There’s no better time than now to start a blog! You can make a full-time income from your blog, but you have to start NOW! Head over to Bluehost and get hosting for your website for only $2.95 a month!! Plus, if you purchase through my link you will get a free domain name! Don’t miss out on this special offer!
Quick Run Down On Starting A Blog
Starting a blog can be intimidating at first, but it’s not as bad as it seems. You don’t have to be very tech-savvy to start a blog.
Also, almost anyone with a blog can make money from it. With you right tools and the right amount of traffic, you’ll start making money in no time! Here are a few tips to help you start your blog and generate money from it!
Find Your Niche
What do you want your blog to be about? The easiest way to figure out what you want to blog about is to choose a topic that you are generally interested in. Don’t start a blog about personal finances if you’re not interested in that topic. If you do, writing blog posts will be a struggle and you will lose motivation.
I decided to create a blog centered around home hacks and tips because I’m genuinely interested in finding new ways to complete tasks around my home. No matter what you choose to write about it, make sure it’s something that you won’t get tired of writing about. Before moving on to the next step, see if you can create at least 20 blog posts. If you can, then you are ready to start blogging because you have successfully found your niche!
Sign Up For Hosting With Bluehost
If you are serious about making money with your blog, then you have to purchase hosting. In a nutshell, web hosting is the service that will allow your website to be accessible on the web. I know that there are a ton of free ways that you can create a free blog, but let me give you a few reasons why you shouldn’t use any of the free website platforms:
- Some free websites cannot use plugins or custom themes which will limit the control that you have over your site.
- Some free websites cannot be monetized with Google Adsense, which is one of the biggest ad networks on the web. Not being able to place ads on your site will put a huge dent in your money making process.
If you want to turn your blog into a money-making machine and make a full-time income from blogging, then your blog has to be self-hosted, and the only way you can do this is to purchase hosting. I personally recommend that you use Bluehost which costs about $2.95 a month and it includes a free domain name. I can’t think of another web hosting service that gives you a free domain name when you purchase hosting, so signing up with Bluehost will save you the most money. Plus, Bluehost has excellent 24/7 customer service!
If you want to know how to go through the process of setting up your WordPress blog with Bluehost, check out this step by step guide that will take you through the entire process. It will only take you 20 minutes to get your blog up and running, so get started now!
Customize Your Site
The good thing about having a self-hosted website is that you have complete control over your site. You can install plugins that will allow your websites to have unique features and functions and you also get to install and customize your themes. Basically, you get to make your site look cute now! Just take into mind that the better your site looks, the more traffic and returning visitors you will receive.
If you aren’t familiar with the WordPress Dashboard layout, then this video from Bluehost will help you get familiar with everything.
Create Social Media Accounts For Your Blog
Now that you have your blog set up and looking good, it’s time to create social media accounts for your blog. Sign up for Facebook, Twitter, and most importantly, Pinterest.
Let’s Take A Walk Down Pinterest Lane…
Pinterest is my main traffic source, and I use a website called PicMonkey to create my pins for Pinterest. It’s super easy to use and it’s FREE. There is another service called Canva that you can use to create pins on, but PicMonkey is easier to use, in my opinion.
In addition to PicMonkey, I use an automated pinning service called BoardBooster to basically run my Pinterest account and pin for me throughout the day. BoardBooster is only $5 a month for a limit of 500 pins, and it’s the main reason why my blog is doing so well today. I never have to worry about pinning on Pinterest because I have BoardBooster scheduled to pin for me throughout the day.
Sign Up For Google Adsense and Affiliate Networks
Once your site starts to get traffic you should start signing up for Google Adsense and a few affiliate networks. Start with applying to Google Adsense for ads and Amazon’s affiliate program for affiliate links. Also, Bluehost has an affiliate program that you can sign up for as well.
Now For The Income Reports
Google Adsense: $371.77
Amazon Affiliate: $160.89
I joined Google Adsense in late February and by the end of March, I closed my account with Adsense. My pageviews increased significantly, and I qualified to joined another ad network, Mediavine.
Amazon Affiliate: $113.06
I am absolutely loving MediaVine! My rpm with MediaVine fluctuates between $6 – $9 and it feels like I’m actually making money now! My rpm with Adsense was super low, and I was starting to get frustrated! If you want to join MediaVine, you have at least 30,000 monthly pageviews to qualify.
Total Income from March and April Combined: $1,169.94
To conclude, the small amount of time that I put into working my blog has paid off tremendously. I’m super happy with my results, and I’m so glad that I started my blog. So, what are waiting for? You’ll never know how much money you can make blogging if you don’t start. I hope that my little blog Income report gives you the motivation you need to set up your blog today.
